Hello, friends!

March has arrived, bringing with it a season of renewal, gentle color, and the first blooms of spring. As the days grow warmer and brighter, we can’t help but feel inspired by all of the new beginnings this month brings. It’s a beautiful reminder that fresh starts and fresh flowers can transform any moment into something meaningful.

Behind the Scenes This Month

At Keepsake, March is a time of preparation and creative momentum. Our studio is buzzing as we:

  • Get ready for the start of a busy spring wedding season
  • Work with soft pastels, garden-inspired palettes, and new seasonal florals
  • Fine-tune preservation methods for delicate spring blooms like tulips, anemones, ranunculus, and sweet peas
  • Create new sample pieces for our partner studios, venues, and bridal shows

Spring inspires everything we do–fresh energy, fresh designs, and fresh stories to preserve.

Dana’s Floral Note of the Month

Fresh flowers are delicate, especially right after an event. If you’re planning to bring your bouquet or arrangement to Keepsake for preservation, here are a few simple steps to help keep your blooms looking their best:

  1. Keep Flowers Hydrated!
    • Cut arrangement or bouquet wraps if needed and place your stems in a vase or container with fresh, clean water.
    • Even 1/2-1 inch of water can make a big difference!
  2. Trim Those Stems!
    • Give stems a fresh trim at a 45-degree angle. This helps the flowers absorb more water and stay hydrated longer.
  3. Store In a Cool Environment!
    • If possible, keep the flowers in a cool room away from heat, direct sun, or vents.
    • If you have space in your fridge, you can place them inside. Just make sure:
      • No freezing temperatures
      • bouquets are upright and not pressed against shelves
  4. Keep Everything Loose!
    • Avoid sealing bouquets inside airtight containers, bags, or car trunks for long periods–flowers need airflow and cool temperatures.
